The Southern Hotel was born from an innovative idea of a group of businessmen who formed the first Board of Directors of the Company Promotora del Sur SA, which bought a farm owned by Mr. Antonio Mesén Valverde, with a futuristic idea projected the idea of a hotel.

This company was opened in 1974, after working as part of a private company for 8 years with different brand names, including: Hotel Promotora del Sur, South Hotel, Hotel del Sur SA

Hotel del Sur, from the month of July 2001 is affiliated to the International chain Vacation Exchange RCI Resort Condominium International, with over 4,000 members worldwide developments.

Thanks to constant improvements and their commitment to quality service, won the recognition of RESORT OF INTERNATIONAL DISTINCTION (RDI) for two consecutive years 2003 and 2004.
